| Summary | 0001456: [Smart3] About hdmi-edid.xml codec string | ||||
| Description | Hi Kerwin There are the following issues in the field: https://jira.skbroadband.com/browse/BTVV-4273 One reason for this issue is the string AC-3. Other manufacturers are using AC3, but FXN models use AC-3 string. Of course, this happens because there is no predefined definition of which codec string to use. (Maybe it's going to be define soon.) 1) The FXN is creating an hdmi-edid.xml file using the result of edid parsing at Amlogic. is it correct? 2) What is the format of the data of the result of the edid parsing in Amlogic? Please write down the actual data. 3) Can I check the hdmi-edid.xml file generation code? 4) Is the codec format string of hdmi-edid.xml used by tvstorm MW (Android 9)? I have to explain the current situation to SKB, so please check it. Thank you. YK.Jung | ||||

Hi Kerwin I've checked QA Samsung TV. .. <supported_Audio> <audio codec="PCM" ch="8" SamplingRate="32/44.1/48/96/192" /> <audio codec="AC-3" ch="6" SamplingRate="32/44.1/48" /> <audio codec="Dobly_Digital+/ATMOS" ch="8" SamplingRate="32/44.1/48" /> <audio codec="MAT" ch="8" SamplingRate="48/96/192" /> <audio codec="PCM" ch="2" SamplingRate="32/44.1/48" /> </supported_Audio> .. Please describe all the codec strings that can be displayed. Thank you YK.Jung |

Hi YK, If HLS Player wants to know audio profiles on the device, I suggest to use Android API, not get from hdmi-edid.xml directly. 1) The FXN is creating an hdmi-edid.xml file using the result of edid parsing at Amlogic. is it correct? ==> Yes, we write strings based sysfs node on Amlogic. (/sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/aud_cap) The sysfs node is also used in Amlogic's audio HAL. 2) What is the format of the data of the result of the edid parsing in Amlogic? Please write down the actual data. ==> It is the same as Amlogic's sysfs node. 3) Can I check the hdmi-edid.xml file generation code? ==> It is implemented in file, HDCPTxAuth::generateEdidXmlFile() vendor/amlogic/common/frameworks/services/systemcontrol/HDCP/HDCPTxAuth.cpp 4) Is the codec format string of hdmi-edid.xml used by tvstorm MW (Android 9)? ==> We don't have information about it. It was heard that this file is for debug purpose. Thank you ! |
